    Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.

    Requirements:

    • Must be an Oklahoma resident.
    • Must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade.
    • Must be a student whose parents' federal adjusted gross income does not exceed:
      • $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children OR
      • $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children OR
      • $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children.

    Applications must be:

    • completed during the school year in the student's eighth-, ninth-, 10th- or 11th-grade year (for homeschool students, the application must be completed while the student is age 13, 14, 15 or 16) and
    • witnessed by the student's parent(s), custodial parent(s) or legal guardian(s) who also agree to help the student comply with Oklahoma's Promise requirements.

    Special income/enrollment provisions may apply to:

    • Children adopted from certain court-ordered custody and children in the custody of court-appointed legal guardians.
    • Taxable Social Security benefits based on the disability or death of the student's parent(s).
    • Students placed into DHS custody during the eighth, ninth, 10th or 11th grade who were unable to enroll in the program may enroll prior to their official date of high school graduation.

     

  • In accordance with 70 O.S. § 1210.508-6 beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, in order to graduate from a public high school accredited by the State Board of Education, students shall complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    A student shall not be required to comply with the provisions of subsection A of this section if:

    1. The student’s parent or legal guardian submits a signed form authorizing the student to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section;

    2. A student age eighteen (18) or older submits a signed form authorizing him or her to opt out of the requirement of subsection A of this section; or

    3. A school counselor authorizes a student to opt out of the FAFSA graduation requirement.

  • Individual Career Academic Planning (ICAP) is a multi-year process that guides students as they explore career, academic and post-secondary opportunities. Families, students and educators collaborate to develop the ICAP, which equips students with the awareness, knowledge and skills to create their own meaningful exploration of college and career opportunities. 

    • Beginning with students entering the ninth grade in the 2019-2020 school year (class of 2023), each student is required to complete the process of an Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP) to graduate from a public high school with a standard diploma. (70 O.S. § 2320.508-4).

  • Concurrent enrollment lets high school students take college-level classes and earn credit for both high school and college simultaneously. It’s a great way to get a head start on a degree, save money, and build confidence in college-level work. These courses can also help students explore potential majors or career paths early. Many students find concurrent enrollment helps them feel more prepared for life after graduation. 

     

    College of the Muscogee Creek Nation (CMN)

    At the College of the Muscogee Nation (CMN), your learning experience is rooted in Mvskoke culture, language, values, and self-determination. As a concurrent student, you’ll get a head start on your college journey while staying connected to your Native identity. With small class sizes and a supportive, culturally rich environment, CMN helps you grow academically and personally—while learning in a way that reflects who you are.


    Oklahoma State University Institue of Technology (OSUIT) 

    As a concurrent student at OSUIT, you’ll have the opportunity to take college courses that count toward both your high school diploma and a degree. OSUIT offers hands-on learning in fields like engineering, health sciences, technology, and trades, giving you real-world experience and valuable skills that will set you up for success in your career. With small class sizes and a supportive environment, OSUIT provides the personal attention you need to thrive while preparing you for the future.


    Tulsa Community College (TCC) 

    Tulsa Community College is a great choice for high school students looking to get a head start on their college education. As a concurrent student at TCC, you’ll have the chance to take college-level courses while still in high school, saving time and money. TCC offers a wide variety of programs in areas like healthcare, technology, business, and the arts, so you can explore your interests and get a taste of what your future career could look like. With smaller class sizes and dedicated professors, you’ll receive personal attention and support to help you succeed every step of the way.


     

    Concurrent to High School Equivalencies    

    *Note: This is a best practice guidance document for unit and course equivalency. Local school board policy supersedes the guidance provided in this document. Using the guiding questions below will help you determine equivalencies.

Local Scholarships


Scholarships are a great way to help cover the cost of college, and there are thousands available for students based on academics, interests, community involvement, and more. Below, you’ll find a few scholarship opportunities to get started—but keep in mind, this is not a complete list. There are many more out there, and it’s important for students to actively research and apply for those that fit their goals and background. Additionally, many colleges and universities offer their own school-specific scholarships, which can often be found directly on their financial aid or admissions websites. Taking the time to explore these resources can make a big difference in funding a college education.

  • The Scholarship is available to an entering college freshman who is a member, or is a spouse, dependent of a member or child whose guardian is a member of the Cooperative and a participant in Operation Round Up.  If you are not currently participating in Operation Round Up, please contact the Cooperative at (918) 756-0833 to join.  Applicants must be high school seniors attending a school within the Cooperative’s service area. One scholarship for each school will be available, each for, $1,000, payable one time, upon providing proof of enrollment and other requested information.  Students must use monies their freshman year immediately following their high school senior year, before January 1st, otherwise they forfeit the scholarship. Students must possess the qualities of honor, integrity, thrift and good moral character.  The Selection Committee evaluates each student on grades, community, work and school activities, awards, honors and achievements, educational goals and financial need.

    Operation Round Up Scholarship Application

     

  • The Sam Viersen Family Foundation Scholarship is available for high school seniors graduating from a high school in Okmulgee County.   Applicant must be graduating in spring, must have attended high school in Okmulgee county for at least two years, have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT score of 24.  Applicant must plan to attend an accredited university, enroll in a minimum of 12 hours per semester (fall and spring) and maintain a cumulative 3.0 while in college.  The scholarship award is $12,000 per semester and renewable for up to three consecutive years.

  • To qualify, students must be currently enrolled in an OSIG member school in good standing as of January 1.

    The scholarship will be awarded annually to three graduating high school senior s from each quadrant in the state of Oklahoma.

    FFCU APPLICATION 

  •  The Sesame Club of Okmulgee, Oklahoma was founded in 1903 as a study club. The object of this organization was to stimulate intellectual growth and individual effort. To be eligible for the Sesame Club scholarship a student must meet the following criteria: 

    1. Be a graduating senior at Okmulgee High School 
    2. Rank in the top 25% of the senior class. 
    3. Have a GPA of 2.5 or better. 
    4. Plan to pursue a college degree. 

    Application Scholarship

  • This application is to apply for a scholarship award for a graduating senior for their first year of advanced education.  Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation provides this award for one year only.  Scholarships are available to residents of Oklahoma only and the student must obtain higher education & training from an Oklahoma institution.  Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation (ORRC) was formed in 1934 as a non-profit corporation.  The funds for the agency were furnished to a board of directors to assist farmers and rural people.  These funds are presently invested in farm loans.  The interest from these loans is used for scholarships, rural development grants and other purposes.  The money that is used to sponsor this scholarship program is funds the agency earns and is not furnished by any county, state or federal government.
